DOE awards protective force services contract
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Oak Ridge Office (ORO) has awarded an $181,672,893 protective force services contract to National Strategic Protective Services, LLC (NSPS).
“We are pleased to welcome NSPS as a part of the Department of Energy team in Oak Ridge,” said Larry Kelly, Oak Ridge Office manager. “We evaluated the proposals and it was clear to us that NSPS is the right company for this difficult and important job.”
NSPS is responsible for providing protective force services to the East Tennessee Technology Park, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Joe L. Evins Federal Building, and the balance of the Oak Ridge Reservation, not including the Y-12 National Security Complex.
NSPS is a joint venture between Triple Canopy, Inc. and Securiguard, Inc. with Santa Fe Protective Services, Inc. as its subcontractor. Santa Fe Protective Services, Inc. is a woman-owned small business. NSPS and Triple Canopy, Inc. are located in Reston, Virginia. Securiguard, Inc. is located in McLean, Virginia. Santa Fe Protective Services is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The NSPS General Manager for this contract is Greg McDowell. The contract period of performance is five years, which includes a three-year base and a two-year option period.
A 60-day transition period begins January 22.
