Citizens are encouraged to
participate in the Department of Energy's activities through a variety of activities that
are open to the public. Our goal is to educate citizens and seek their meaningful
involvement. Each month, we publish a calendar that is linked above which identifies
opportunities for the public to become informed about our activities. Tours of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Y-12 National Security Complex and East Tennessee Technology Park are available through September 30, 2005 beginning at 9 a.m., Monday-Friday, except for government holidays, departing from our American Museum of Science and Energy. Meetings of our Environmental Management Program Advisory Boards at Oak Ridge and Paducah are open to the public and participated is encouraged. The DOE Information Center in Oak Ridge houses information about our operations and sites in Oak Ridge, Paducah, Portsmouth, Weldon Spring and Newport News. Information may also be requested through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) process. A FOIA Web Site is linked from this page. Contacts are available to provide further information about Department of Energy activities, or you may call the Public Affairs Office at (865) 576-0885 or 1-800-382-6938, option 1. |
