Paper Applications
Application for Federal EmploymentThe SF-171, Application for Federal Employment, and the OF-612, Optional Application for Federal Employment, can be downloaded from the Forms section of the Human Resources web site and completed electronically. Resumes in lieu of these forms will also be accepted. Applicants should refer to vacancy announcements or recruiting bulletins for specific information about required documents. Workforce for the 21st CenturyOn November 20, 1998, Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson announced the completion of the Strategic Alignment Initiative and the beginning of the Workforce for the 21st Century Initiative (Workforce 21). Workforce 21 plans form the basis for a wide range of resource decisions including approval of critical hiring needs, submission of requests to the Office of Personnel Management for early retirement authority, submission of requests to the Office of Management and Budget for buyout authority, identification of needs for intern and special employment programs, and identification of potential diversity improvement strategies. The Oak Ridge Offices Workforce 21 Plan was approved by Secretary Richardson on March 31, 1999. The Hispanic Employment Plan, dated July 1999, is an accompanying document to the Department's Worforce 21 Diversity Strategic Plan. Voluntary SolicitationsOnly current Oak Ridge Offices (ORO) employees may elect to participate in the Voluntary Solicitation program. Employees who wish to participate should visit the Voluntary Solicitation web site to complete the on-line form (use your 3 character user id and password to log in). Some employees located at off-site facilities may experience difficulty accessing the on-line form; therefore, employees should fill out an electronic version of the form and fax to the ORO Human Resources office at (865) 576-9190. The information collected will be stored in a database, which will be searched to find eligible candidates for temporary details and permanent reassignments to ORO positions.
